bioballs

Postby Matt111 on Wed Jul 28, 2010 5:46 am

Hello.

In the middle segment of my sump I have a chamber of bioballs I want to be rid of soon. I'd like to replace the bioballs with either:

1. A second protein skimmer under $400. I already have a Aqua C 180. It does a pretty good job. I don't know what kind of skimmer to get. I have a 125 mixed reef.

Or...

2. A Korallin biodinitrator I read about them with the sulfur-based media. Sounds interesting. I wonder if it really works.

I am looking for advice. I appreciate input from anyone.

Matt

I recommend keeping it simple and just have one good skimmer.

Are you having a serious nitrate problem?

Do you grow chaeto in your fuge?

I am running A sulfur-based dinitrator. Its one i made my self. It worked really well to ride my tank of hair algae in about 3 weeks. Since i installed it i bought a new rodi and a new large skimmer so i am thinking of taking it down. i have it listed for sale in the buy trade form if you want to see pic. I also have read a ton of info on them before i built mine if you have any questions.

I would be interested in the dinitrator. Email me at tthew11@gmail.com.

Thanks,
Matt
