Me or the OP???

Mine are doing great. Puddling out, branching. Just starting to get going. I do have a small plague of valonia. I hate that stuff.

If you were talking about mine, everything has acclimated well. The original Acro that I had the problem with hasn't returned to the color it was when I bought it but its still opening polyps. Now it is kind of orange and green depending on the part you look at. I aslo ended up rearranging the tanks structure to shade some things and added 2x Koralias, one nano and a Koralia 2

I am going to post some more pics because Im still doing something wrong and Im going to loss my mind. Some love it and some hate it. I had to rearrange my tank to fit powerheads and a few of them didnt take the new placements well. I've never had these issues with any moni or stylo but Acros hate me.!!

Just make sure the acro is not getting a direct blast from the new powerheads. They like flow, but not constent flow. At least that is my experience. I once pointed a return line towards a colony and it killed a section of it that was getting direct flow.

Corals are looking a little better, all but my 2 Millies. I just tested it with a Mardel test but the results are shown in buffering Capacity instead of dkh. The buffering said it was 300ppm and I found a converter calculator online from ppm to dkh and it said my dkh was 16.8, is that right.? Does anyone know how to convert this because I really dont want to buy another test.?

Nitrates: 0
Nitrites: 0
Buffering Capacity: 300
PH: 8.0
Calcium: 450
Phosphates: 0.1
Still no Magnesium Test

I never figured out the whole Alkalinity thing because I didn't buy another test but thanks to everyone's input the acro tank is doing a lot better. My only issue with this tank now is algae. Whats the best method to get it gone in a 25 Gal. Turbo Snails are to big, Astrea's and hermits don't touch it and My last sea hair got sucked through my overflow vents and my Emerald crab doesn't do a good enough job either. I do 5 gal water changes ever two weeks, sometimes 10 Gal changes. There are no fish in the tank some the only food going in is Phytomax, Zoomax, and Chromamax, Tiny stuff and I dont even feed much of that.

I have again tested for Nitrates and Phosphates and its 0 on Nitrates and 0.5 on Phosphates, I was told its probably holding it all in the rocks preventing it from showing up on a water test so what's a good solution because I been fighting this for like 3 months now and I have 5 tanks with this being the only one with an algae problem.

Hey Mike, you can get low readings like that because the algae is pulling the nutrients from the rocks. The lettuce nudibranch can do a good job of mowing down the longer stuff. If you plan on putting in many acros and sps, you will want to monitor the calcium, alk, and magnesium. Even if you do water changes frequently, the levels can still drop below desired levels.
